We’ve all had adults in our lives that inspired, encouraged, and nurtured us to be the best we could be. Each day, our Club staff is a stabilizing force for the youth we serve. From talking through challenges, to helping with homework, and simply playing fun games, Club staff give their all. Every day. For every young person. They model what positive leadership looks like because our youth see better than they hear. And because our youth can never have enough positive and caring adults in their lives, they need YOU!
Crystal Allen is an unconventional leader, committed to enhancing the lives of young people. For more than 25 years, she has advocate for youth and families in underserved communities. As a first-generation high school graduate and college graduate, Crystal is committed to providing access to resources and support that help level the playing field of opportunity. Her position that “all young people should have access to quality and equitable education, despite their zip code or family dynamic,” is her north star. She personally understands the challenges youth and their families face, and the crucial importance both education and opportunity play in breaking generational poverty.
For 12 years, Crystal has cultivated her passion for youth development through various roles with Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Cincinnati. From humble beginnings as a part-time Program Leader, to Program Director, Club Director, Vice President of Human Resources, and Vice President of Operations, Crystal knows what it takes to build a fortified Boys & Girls Club organization, that ensures the youth of Dayton have a Boys & Girls Club to call home for many years to come. She also firmly believes in further equipping parents and caregivers with resources to further empower them as they continue to support their children.
Crystal holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English (Pre-Law) from Central State University. She is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., and a business operations consultant for small churches. She is also mother to five amazing daughters.
