Workforce Ready

At the Boys & Girls Club of Dayton, we’re committed to helping teens achieve their full potential. Our Teen Programs are designed to empower young people with the tools, skills, and support they need to succeed in school, careers, and life.

Whether they’re preparing for college, exploring career paths, or building life skills, our teens have access to opportunities that ignite their passions and set them on a path to a bright future.

Enrolled

For our teens whose next step is college, we provide opportunities to earn college credits, tour college campus and learn more about post secondary educational opportunities.

Our partners have included the Sinclair Community College Manufacturing Boot Camp.

Enlisted

For our teens who want to pursue a military path, we connect them to recruiters who can help them decide which branch fits their needs.

Employed

For some teens, college and the military are not their path. So, we work with them to help them understand their employment opportunities and learn how to get and stay gainfully employed.

Why Join?

The Boys & Girls Club of Dayton is more than just a program—it’s a community. Our dedicated staff and mentors work closely with each teen to help them discover their unique talents and achieve their goals.

Field Trips & Extra Experiences

Our youth get to engage in special field trips and experiences on and off campus to continue to build their knowledge of the world around them. Field trips may have additional costs. If you would like to provide financial support for a child’s field trip please contact Emma Kane at [email protected].

Youth of the Year

The Youth of the Year competition honors outstanding Club members of the Boys & Girls Club of Dayton by recognizing their achievements in academics, leadership, dedication, and perseverance.

Each participant has the opportunity to engage with a mentor who will help them select professional attire to feel confident and empowered as well as coach them through sharing their stories and showcasing their leadership.

At the end of the competition, one participant will be crowned as the local Youth of the Year. This Club member can then go on to compete in the state, regional and national Youth of the Year competition where ultimately, one outstanding young person is named Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s national teen spokesperson.

All of our Youth of the Year participants become Club representatives after the competition, continuing to attend public facing events to share more about their journey as a Club member.
