Strong Leadership Develops Strong Youth

Each staff member at the Boys & Girls Club of Dayton is a stabilizing force for the youth we serve. From talking through challenges, helping with homework, and also playing and having fun, Club Staff make our youth their top priority. We model positive leadership so our youth continue to have positive, caring adults in their lives!

Crystal Allen

Chief Executive Officer and President

Crystal Allen is a visionary, award-winning leader with nearly 30 years of experience dedicated to transforming the lives and outcomes of young people. As President & CEO of the Boys & Girls Club of Dayton, she has reimagined one of the region’s oldest youth-serving institutions into a premier hub of opportunity, innovation, and hope. Under her bold leadership, the organization is undergoing a historic capital campaign to establish Dayton’s first-ever Life & Workforce Readiness Center for teens—a first-of-its-kind space designed to prepare the next generation for success in work and in life.

A proud graduate of Central State University, Crystal holds a B.A. in English (Pre-Law) and is a dynamic empowerment speaker and soon-to-be published author. Her unwavering commitment to equity and excellence has earned her numerous accolades, including the Public Relations Society of America’s Newsmaker of the Year, the Gem City Award, the Ohio Alliance of Boys & Girls Clubs CEO of the Year, and two of Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s highest honors—the Tom Burt Pacesetter Award and the Blue Spirit Award.

Crystal attributes her success to her faith and the unwavering support of her mother, who instilled in her the values of resilience, service, and compassion. She proudly serves on the Board of Trustees for Sinclair Community College, the National President’s Advisory Council for Boys & Girls Clubs of America, and as Chair of the Youth Department at her local church.

When she’s not leading transformational change, Crystal enjoys camping, traveling, and curating her vibrant eyeglass collection. Of all her titles and honors, the one she treasures most is “Mom” to her five extraordinary daughters, who inspire her daily to lead with purpose, passion, and authenticity.
