THE BOYS & GIRLS CLUB OF DAYTON RECEIVES A FRESH MAKEOVER!

Click here for a sneak peek!

Dayton, OH (January, 15 2016) – The Boys & Girls Club of Dayton (BGCD) is building and painting to create amazing new spaces for Club members to experience fun and exciting opportunities. The makeover encompasses both the lower and upper levels of the Club. The lower level is styled with a modern design created by a lighter ensemble of colors; while the upper level reveals playful, bold splashes of colors, representing the spirit of the Boys & Girls Club.

The BGCD makeover also includes structural updates, such as the addition of a performing arts stage, a new partition to better distinguish the Teen Services area from the space reserved for younger Club members, and the Administrative offices have swapped with the Membership office to provide a better logistical flow and line of sight for the Membership Coordinator. Other changes include a donation of conference chairs from the National Conference for Community & Justice of Greater Dayton.

“Thanks to our partnership with Sears True Value and support from Lowe’s Home Improvement, we are able to present a refreshed, inviting atmosphere for our kids in 2016,” said Natasha R. Spears, BGCD CEO. “We are appreciative of the support as we help Dayton-area kids build great futures. Not only will this renovation positively impact Club members, but also the additional 350-400 youth who come through our doors via community outreach and partner programs such as sports leagues and HIS Kids, a Phillips Temple CME discipleship program for youth.”

Through the partnership with Sears True Value, the Club is one of 175 Clubs across the nation selected to receive a ‘Painting a Brighter Future’ grant. ‘Painting a Brighter Future’ is the signature program of the True Value Foundation, uniting True Value retailers with Boys & Girls Clubs across the country. In total, the True Value retailers donate more than 3,000 gallons of paint to Clubs across the nation.
